Join our half-day practical workshop where we'll address microbiological investigation issues widely known to the industry, in addition to rarely discussed obstacles, such as recurrent mold contamination, biofilm formation, viable but non-culturable microorganisms, and false positive results.

We'll gear you up with a framework based on PDA Technical Report No. 88 (TR 88) Microbial Data Deviation Investigations in the Pharmaceutical Industry. The report provides insights on focusing on the investigational areas that may contain or contribute to the root cause of data deviations, such as sampling, test methodology, and suitability of the test, as opposed to providing methods for analysis of batch acceptability.

We will cover fundamental microbiology theory, along with real-life concepts in practice. Participants will leave this session with the foundation to grasp underpinning knowledge to conduct and write robust investigations related to microbiological excursions.

What will you gain?

  • A strong foundation to grasp underpinning knowledge to conduct and write robust investigations related to microbiological excursions
  • Introduction to how a comprehensive library can further provide concrete evidence in any investigation
  • Explore emerging and groundbreaking technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Practice on real life case studies of investigations including mold, biofilm, viable but non-culturable organisms' proliferation
